What each module does and its role

The Daasity module descriptions explain the roles of Marketing & Growth analytics, Merchandising analytics, Data platform and ELT, and Finance & Operations analytics.

Marketing & Growth analytics

This analytics area helps growth teams examine acquisition, retention and customer segments across connected commerce and marketing data. It turns shared data into channel, product and customer decisions rather than replacing the campaign tools that execute them.

Merchandising analytics

Merchandising analytics is for demand, inventory and assortment decisions. A merchandising team can use historical sales and customer information to review forecasts and product performance, while purchase orders and stock changes remain separate operating actions.

Data platform and ELT

The data platform handles the connection, transformation and orchestration work behind Daasity reporting. Data teams can use automated ELT, customizable transformations and governance to prepare a shared set of metrics for the other decision areas.

Finance & Operations analytics

This area brings ecommerce business data into financial and operating analysis. Finance and operations teams use it to examine planning, inventory and cost questions from the same data foundation; the exact model and source coverage still depend on the connected systems.

Selection advice

Evaluating Daasity for a shared commerce data model

Teams that need to analyze direct-to-consumer, marketplace and retail data through a shared model can continue evaluating Daasity. It offers a base model and product, customer and repurchase analytics that can be customized for the business. Compared with buying connectors alone, the choice also depends on which business metrics the model covers and which custom definitions the team must supply.

Comparing Supermetrics for data delivery to existing internal models

If the company already maintains a warehouse, analytical models and reports, compare Supermetrics for connections and data delivery. Relative to Daasity’s base model and analytics scope, this purchase focuses on sending data to established destinations. The team still owns downstream metrics and reports and must check each connector’s history, refresh behavior and available fields.

Comparing Triple Whale and Polar for ready-made business analytics

For business teams that want ready-made ecommerce reporting, compare Triple Whale and Polar Analytics. Triple Whale combines business analytics and attribution, while Polar provides reporting and an ecommerce metric model. Compare them with Daasity on the required analyses, data access and customization; a shared source list alone does not establish a complete replacement.

Evaluating Northbeam separately for advertising measurement

When allocating advertising spend is the main problem, evaluate Northbeam’s multi-touch attribution and other measurement capabilities separately. These overlap with some of Daasity’s analytics use cases, but ownership of order, customer and retail data preparation still needs to be established. Advertising measurement and company-wide commerce data management can be separate purchases.

Daasity FAQs

Daasity FAQs address “Which data should a brand reconcile first?” and “When is Daasity a better fit than a simple reporting app?”

Which data should a brand reconcile first?

Start with the records that affect operating decisions: sales, refunds, inventory, marketing spend and cost data. Finance and operations should agree on their definitions before treating a dashboard as a profit view.

When is Daasity a better fit than a simple reporting app?

It is more relevant when a brand needs data from several commerce and marketing sources to use the same definitions. A store with one channel and a simple reporting need may not need a separate data foundation.

What public price is available?

The current public page lists Essentials Self Service configurations at $1,499 or $1,999 per month, plus a $499-per-month AI Analyst. The purchased data sources, onboarding scope and contract still need confirmation.

We were excited about Daasity because we have a number of custom reporting needs given the fact that we use a lot of bundles, and also have both DTC and wholesale running through our Shopify site. The sales team sold us on a custom setup. Unfortunately, the implementation was possibly the worst I have ever experienced. Not only was there and almost complete lack of project management and QC that required untold hours of our teams time, but after six months we were still nowhere near completion and to make matters worse, Daasity informed us that we would have to pay thousands of dollars more in order to finish the originally scoped project (!) It also appears that something is happening at the company, given that almost the entire team we were working with, including their cofounder, left the company suddenly and without a word of notice during our implementation period. Needless to say, we terminated our contract. If you need a custom implementation I would advise you to run away.

An amazingly powerful tool for eCommerce merchants looking to empower their teams with data - no SQL skills necessary. Honestly, Daasity accomplished for us in a matter of weeks what usually takes months and tens of thousands of dollars to build. Its an off the shelf data model that is more sophisticated and powerful than anything we would have built on our own at this point. It provides an amazing opportunity for young businesses to have a best-in-class data model usually reserved for much larger companies. Love the product and the support team is fantastic. Cannot recommend enough.

Who Gives A Crap AustraliaAustralia

Daasity has been a fantastic solution for us that has allowed us to connect multiple data sources (Shopify (including ReCharge), GA, Klayvio, ZenDesk and more) into a single data warehouse. The Daasity team have been fantastic partners. They allowed us to scale up fast, and they have deep eCommerce expertise to create customization that has proven to be transformative for our business.
