Buying view: It is designed around inventory operations across channels, rather than being a marketing tool with a stock connector. Inventory migration, SKU cleanup, warehouse rules, and included integration counts need to be validated before a full cutover.
Cin7 features and workflows
Cin7 centralizes products, stock, purchase orders, sales orders, warehouse locations, and connected sales channels so an operations team can fulfil orders and replenish inventory from a single inventory record. Its biggest advantage is coordination across channels and locations: order routing and stock updates can follow shared rules instead of each storefront and warehouse maintaining a separate spreadsheet.
Cin7 use cases
Multichannel sellers need consistent operational records across inventory, orders, purchasing, and connected sales channels.
How Cin7 works
Centralized inventory and order operations across selling channels. Ecommerce and app integration capacity varies by plan. Purchasing and operational workflows alongside stock records.
In Cin7 Core, the operator confirms the sales order’s fulfillment location and checks stock before picking, packing and shipping. If stock is short, Split Order allows the available quantity to ship and creates a separate order for the remainder. Backorder instead waits until the full quantity is available. Shipping records the goods movement; invoicing records the sale.
Configured shipping-zone rules can prefill the fulfillment location, which the operator can change. Backordering requires suppliers attached to the products and can create a purchase order for the missing units. Service-only sales skip warehouse fulfillment. A selected location or a backorder record is not a completed shipment.
The merchant sets reorder points for stock items in Cin7 Core. When stock falls below those levels, Reorder helps prepare a purchase order. The operator reviews the supplier and quantities, issues the order, then records the goods received and the supplier invoice. Advanced purchases support deliveries and invoices split across multiple records.
A reorder suggestion is not a supplier order or a receipt. This flow covers stock purchases; service-only purchases do not add physical inventory. Partial deliveries remain separate receipts rather than being treated as a fully received order.
Cin7 pricing and plans
Estimated from published pricing rules
Cin7 subscription budget
Independent EcomAgentTools budget matching based on public subscription prices; not a vendor calculator.
Select the highest eligible plan within this budget. Usage needs are not assessed.
This calculator covers only the published monthly base prices for Cin7 Core and each plan's included users, connections and annual order capacity. Cin7 publishes no reproducible dollar amount for its paid add-ons, so every add-on remains outside the total and is itemized below with its plan eligibility and price-access path.
USD before tax; the estimate is limited to the $349 Standard, $599 Pro and $1,199 Advanced monthly base subscriptions. Cin7 confirms annual billing but does not publish a reproducible annual amount, so annual is shown as unavailable for calculation. The total also excludes every unpriced add-on, extra capacity, onboarding, professional services, financing and payment-processing charge. Cin7 Omni requires separate sales pricing.

Cin7 optional add-ons
Cin7 sells these modules, channels, capacity upgrades and services separately from its Core base plans. Each card explains the work it adds, when it is worth discussing and which plan or quote condition to compare; items without a public amount remain outside the calculator total.
ForesightAI
Uses sales history to forecast demand, flag inventory health and suggest purchase, transfer or assembly quantities. Its purchase-budget view also projects purchase-order costs, so it supports planning decisions beyond Cin7's normal stock records.
- Buying test: confirm that you have at least six months of usable sales history, then ask how GMV is measured and which entities, locations and catalogs the quote covers.
- Plan boundary: paid add-on on Standard, Pro, Advanced and Omni; priced by GMV.
- Price: no public GMV bands or amount. Check My Subscription or ask Cin7; excluded from the calculator.
B2B Portal
Creates a self-service wholesale storefront where approved customers can browse a selected catalog, place orders, check order status, download invoices and reorder. It is a separate buyer-facing sales channel, not just another internal user screen.
- Buying test: count the separate brand, region or customer catalogs that need their own portal; each portal needs an add-on, and extra portal sites require Pro, Advanced or Omni.
- Plan boundary: one paid portal is available on every plan; additional portal sites are limited to Pro, Advanced and Omni.
- Price: no public amount. Eligible customers can check My Subscription; prospective buyers need a Cin7 quote. Excluded from the calculator.
Point of Sale (POS)
Adds a browser-based retail register that shares products and stock with Cin7 Core. Store staff can process sales, exchanges and returns, look up stock, manage customers and gift cards, and send the resulting transactions back to the central inventory record.
- Buying test: count the registers that must transact at the same time and the stores that need their own outlet setup; each register needs an add-on, while extra registers require Pro, Advanced or Omni.
- Plan boundary: one paid register is available on every plan; additional registers are limited to Pro, Advanced and Omni.
- Price: no public amount. Eligible customers can check My Subscription; prospective buyers need a Cin7 quote. Excluded from the calculator.
API
Gives a developer or integration partner authenticated access to Cin7 records such as products, stock availability, purchases, sales, payments, packing and shipping. It is the paid connection path when a ready-made integration does not cover the required data exchange.
- Buying test: list the exact records and write-back actions the integration needs, then have the implementer confirm Cin7's per-application limits. EDI and 3PL projects also require a partner solution.
- Plan boundary: paid add-on on all plans.
- Price: no public amount. Eligible customers can check My Subscription; prospective buyers need a Cin7 quote. Excluded from the calculator.
Flex API
Cin7 describes Flex API as the higher-volume API option with more flexibility and speed. Its public material does not disclose the throughput or limit difference from the standard API, so the extra capacity must be defined in the quote.
- Buying test: ask Cin7 to state the standard and Flex API rate limits, burst limits and support terms against your expected peak order volume before paying for the upgrade.
- Plan boundary: paid add-on on Pro and Advanced; unavailable on Standard and Omni.
- Price: no public amount. Cin7 directs customers to Core Support; excluded from the calculator.
Advanced WMS
For teams running multiple warehouses, it extends the included Standard WMS with mobile picking, packing, restocking and put-away, plus pick zones, FIFO/FEFO validation, delivery scheduling, kitting picks and time tracking.
- Buying test: compare your warehouse count and required controls with Standard WMS first. For Pro, compare the add-on quote with moving to Advanced, where Advanced WMS is included.
- Plan boundary: paid on Pro, included in Advanced, unavailable on Standard and Omni; Standard WMS remains included in every Core plan.
- Price: no public amount. Eligible customers can check My Subscription; prospective buyers need a Cin7 quote. Excluded from the calculator.
Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA)
Adds a controlled returns process with return policies, a customer return portal, authorization numbers and statuses. The team can route an approved case to refund, replacement or repair, then use a return order for warehouse inspection and restocking.
- Buying test: use return volume and the need for customer self-service, approval tracking and warehouse inspection to judge the module. For Pro, compare its quote with Advanced, where RMA is included.
- Plan boundary: paid on Pro, included in Advanced, unavailable on Standard and Omni.
- Price: no public amount. Eligible customers can check My Subscription; prospective buyers need a Cin7 quote. Excluded from the calculator.
Material Requirements Planning (MRP)
Compares expected demand with stock, transfers, purchase supply, assemblies and production, then suggests purchase, transfer, assembly or production orders. Operators review the suggestions before confirming them; production planning can also expand a bill of materials into required components.
- Buying test: confirm that suppliers, lead times and bills of materials are maintained well enough to drive suggestions. Standard buyers should compare the add-on quote with Pro, where MRP is included.
- Plan boundary: paid on Standard, included in Pro and Advanced, unavailable on Omni.
- Price: no public amount. Eligible customers can check My Subscription; prospective buyers need a Cin7 quote. Excluded from the calculator.
Advanced Production Manufacturing
Adds production scheduling, resource and job-cost visibility, manufacturing reports and the MES mobile task list used on the shop floor. Workers can start and complete assigned production tasks while planners inspect timing and capacity in the scheduler.
- Buying test: choose it for managed production jobs that need scheduling and shop-floor task capture, not merely simple kitting or assembly. Ask which MES users, sites and implementation work the quote covers.
- Plan boundary: paid add-on on Pro and Advanced; unavailable on Standard and Omni.
- Price: no public amount. Eligible customers can check My Subscription; prospective buyers need a Cin7 quote. Excluded from the calculator.
Advanced Automations
Adds rule-based notifications, scheduled reports, reminders and assigned task workflows around Cin7 records. Teams can notify internal or external recipients and route follow-up work to the right role when a configured business event occurs.
- Buying test: list the recurring alerts, reports and handoffs you intend to configure, then confirm the supported triggers and actions. Compare the add-on quote with Advanced, where the module is included.
- Plan boundary: paid on Standard, Pro and Omni; included in Advanced.
- Price: no public amount. Eligible customers can check My Subscription; prospective buyers need a Cin7 quote. Excluded from the calculator.
Intelligent Document Recognition (IDR)
Extracts fields and line items from purchase invoices, receiving notes, credit notes and supported sales documents. It can match purchase documents to an existing purchase order, but a person must review and correct the extracted data before authorization; it does not create the purchase order itself.
- Buying test: assess the value based on monthly document volume and manual-entry effort, while accounting for the continued need for human review. Ask which document types and fields your account can process before agreeing to the quote.
- Plan boundary: paid on Standard, Pro and Advanced; unavailable on Omni.
- Price: no public amount. Eligible customers can check My Subscription; prospective buyers need a Cin7 quote. Excluded from the calculator.
Additional user packs
Adds named Cin7 Core user accounts in packs of three when the included 5, 10 or 15 users are not enough for the people who work in inventory, purchasing, sales, finance or warehouse operations.
- Pricing decision: count people who need their own login and compare the number of users covered by the required three-user packs with the next plan's included user count.
- Plan boundary: extra three-user packs can be purchased; the plan pricing page does not list the price per pack.
- Price: no public amount. Ask Cin7 for a written quote; excluded from the calculator.
Additional ecommerce and app connections
Raises the number of stores, marketplaces, accounting apps or other integrations that can connect to Cin7 beyond the 2, 4 or 6 connections included with the public Core plans.
- Buying test: inventory every production connection, including separate storefront accounts, and compare the extra-connection quote with the next plan's included allowance.
- Plan boundary: additional connections are available for purchase; Omni capacity is customized.
- Price: no public amount. Ask Cin7 for a written quote; excluded from the calculator.
Additional sale-order volume
Raises the annual sales-order allowance beyond the 6,000, 24,000 or 120,000 orders included with Standard, Pro and Advanced. This is capacity for processing more orders, not another sales channel or workflow module.
- Buying test: use the last 12 months of orders plus seasonal peak and growth expectations, then compare an over-capacity quote with the next plan's included annual allowance.
- Plan boundary: extra Core sales-order volume is available; Omni volume is customized.
- Price: no public amount. Ask Cin7 for a written quote; excluded from the calculator.
Catalogs over 100,000 SKUs
Extends the product-catalog limit when the business needs Cin7 to hold more than 100,000 SKUs. It changes account capacity only; it does not add forecasting, warehouse or order-management functions.
- Buying test: count active, variant and retained SKUs using Cin7's definition, then ask for the supported ceiling and price band in writing before planning a catalog migration.
- Plan boundary: paid capacity option on Pro and Advanced; unavailable on Standard. Omni capacity is customized.
- Price: no public amount. Ask Cin7 for a written quote; excluded from the calculator.
Premium Support
Adds scheduled access to Cin7 support specialists: up to two 30–45 minute calls per week, 24/5 availability and two Cin7 consultations per year. It buys a higher-touch support route rather than another inventory feature.
- Buying test: decide whether the team will use recurring scheduled calls and proactive consultations; ask Cin7 to confirm response handling, call availability and the required 30-day advance written notice for cancellation in the quote.
- Plan boundary: separately purchased on Standard, Pro, Advanced and Omni.
- Price: no public amount. Ask Cin7 for a written quote; excluded from the calculator.
Professional Services
Cin7's public plan comparison lists Professional Services as an add-on but does not publish a service menu or standard deliverables. Treat it as scoped implementation or consulting work only when Cin7 defines the work in a proposal; do not confuse it with the recurring Premium Support service.
- Buying test: require the proposal to name the tasks, deliverables, hours, owners, acceptance criteria and exclusions, then compare it with quotes for onboarding or from a qualified implementation partner.
- Plan boundary: listed as a separate purchase on Standard, Pro, Advanced and Omni; deliverables are not publicly defined.
- Price: no public amount. Ask Cin7 for a written quote; excluded from the calculator.

Selection advice
Checking Core and Omni against the existing inventory workflow
For multichannel inventory, purchasing and orders, first check whether the current Cin7 product line and plan cover the required workflow. Core and Omni differ in purchase scope, with their own user, connection and order conditions. Existing Cin7 teams missing a manufacturing or warehouse capability can compare upgrades or add-ons before evaluating a full inventory-system migration.
Comparing Katana and Fishbowl when manufacturing workflows are the priority
For a stronger focus on materials, work orders and scheduling, compare Katana with Fishbowl Advanced Manufacturing. Fishbowl explicitly provides material requirements planning and production scheduling; Katana offers add-ons such as Manufacturing Management, Traceability and WMS. Compare actual bills of materials and production steps, checking which product and plan supplies each required capability.
Comparing Finale when barcode warehouse work and ecommerce fulfillment come first
For multi-warehouse inventory, receiving, picking and counts, shortlist Finale Inventory, now branded Descartes Finale. It offers a barcode warehouse module and purchasing and replenishment capabilities; check which modules the offer includes. If production scheduling is also required, assess that workflow separately rather than assuming bill-of-materials support replaces Cin7’s manufacturing capabilities.

Exact Shopify App Store listing: Cin7 Core
We've been using Cin7 for several yearsl, and it's become an essential part of how we manage our business. As a small team handling inventory across wholesale, retail, Amazon, and Shopify, having everything centralized in one system has made a huge difference. I use Cin7 daily for inventory management, purchasing, forecasting, and reporting. It gives me visibility into what we have on hand, what's on order, and where we need to take action, which is especially important when managing multiple suppliers and sales channels. Overall, Cin7 has helped us stay organized, make better inventory decisions, and scale our operations more effectively. I'd recommend it to any growing business looking for a comprehensive inventory and order management solution.
Setu was very helpful in understanding the way the system works and advising how to trouble shoot if anymore problems occur. Solutions Architect team

Exact Shopify App Store listing: Cin7 Omni
The connection between shopify and cin7 is riddled with issues. The system cannot deal with exhanges and cin7 refuse to consider this an essential retail practice.
Had a horrible experience trying to implement CIN7 to my business, we had minimal requirements, we are not a complicated set! Dealing with a third party implementor cin7 forced us to use but then have not accepted any responsibility when they have not been able to deliver the functionality promised to us yet we are out of pocket tens of thousands of $. I would strongly suggest to do your own research and ask them to prove functionality before you pay a cent as once you're signed up and paid the salesman disappears and they lose all enthusiasm to make it work - horrible experience for us.
Well Cin7 asked for a review, my guess is that they may stop asking based on the rating they have here. I would NEVER EVER EVER recommend this platform to any e-commerce business that has a multi-channel distribution (which they claim to support). We have been in business for 10 years on ecomm and I can say this is the WORST investment of time, energy, and money I have ever made. The tech issues related to this platform are plentiful, we have open "tickets" for over a year. Their customer service barely fixes a problem as we always here "hum, this isn't happening to any one else" and then they just ignore it. They were built with people who must have never worked in this industry or have any product or supply chain experience, and everything takes way too many clicks. We are on a total time and attention burn with this platform, and the systems they say work don't ever work in the real world. I would highly recommend doing hours of due diligence on this platform before actually hoping in, and make sure you have a full-time data person on the team to deal with all the extra man-hours it takes to finish tasks. You may be asking "why would you stay" the sad news is there are not many options out there, so we remain with the devil we know, I just try to save future founders/small ecomm businesses to not waste their time and find a different solution.
We moved to CIN7 and it's been a great decision. The system is intuitive, handles our inventory well, and the new AI capability takes stock management to another level. Highly recommend for any product-based business looking to get on top of their operations.
